Resumen curricular:

Obtuvo la licenciatura como Químico Farmacobiólogo en la Facultad de Ciencias Químicas de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California en 1996, con tesis "Caracterización fisicoquímica y actividad catalítica de compuestos BiMo en la oxidación de CO", bajo la dirección del Dr. Juan Cruz.

Doctorado en Física de Materiales obtenido en el Centro de Investigación Científica y de Estudios Superiores de Ensenada-UNAM en 2003, con tesis "Estudio de catalizadores Pd/Al2O3-ZrO2 preparador por sol-gel", bajo la dirección del Dr. Sergio Fuentes.

Estancia posdoctoral en el Departamento de Química de la Universidad de California Riverside del 2004 al 2007, trabajando en el estudio in situ de la química de superficie durante el depósito de películas delgadas de materiales duros tipo TiN, WN y óxidos de Hf, Ti por el método de deposito atómico por capa ("ALD: atomic layer deposition"), con el Dr. Francisco Zaera, www.chem.ucr.edu/Zaera. Además, participó en otros proyectos relacionados con el estudio de películas auto-ensambladas basadas en moléculas tipo porfirinas con aplicaciones de memorias en el laboratorio del Dr. David Bocian.

A partir del 2008 se incorpora como investigador en el Centro de Nanociencias y Nanotecnología de la UNAM donde continua con el estudio de los procesos químicos y propiedades físicas de películas delgadas preparadas por ALD. Además, participa en el estudio de materiales catalíticos con el departamento de nanocatálisis.

En 2008 realizó una visita de investigación corta en el Fraunhofer-Institute for Materials and Beam Technology ("Institute Werkstoff- und Strahltechnik, IWS") con el Dr. Stefan Brown, www.iws.fraunhofer.de/e_welcome.html y la Technical University of Dresden en el laboratorio de semiconductores y microsistemas con el Dr. Matthias Albert, ambos en Dresden, Alemania para el estudio de procesos ALD asistidos con plasma, y caracterizados por reflectometría de rayos-x (XRR).
