Maria Guadalupe Moreno Armenta actualmente es Investigadora Titular B, T.C. del Departamento de Modelaci\u00f3n de Nanomateriales, nivel II del SNI\u00a0 y\u00a0 nivel C del PRIDE. Su \u00e1rea de Investigaci\u00f3n es en c\u00e1lculos de primeros principios de estructuras cristalinas. El trabajo de la Dra. Moreno Armenta ha estado enfocado en realizar estudios en volumen y en superficie de la estructura electr\u00f3nica de materiales con inter\u00e9s tecnol\u00f3gico, como nitruros, \u00f3xidos y carburos de metales de transici\u00f3n y un poco de c\u00e1lculos de mol\u00e9culas org\u00e1nicas; trabajando en estrecha colaboraci\u00f3n con Investigadores de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad del Norte de Colombia, San Diego State University en California, Estados Unidos, y la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Baja California.<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dentro de los materiales de inter\u00e9s se encuentran los compuestos 2D denominados MXenes, con su f\u00f3rmula general\u00a0 M<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n+1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">X<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">x<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (n=1-3), donde M representa un metal de transici\u00f3n (Sc, Ti, Zr, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, etc.) X es carb\u00f3n y\/o nitr\u00f3geno y T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">x<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> representa las terminaciones de la superficie (por ejemplo OH, O o F). Las variables que permiten los ajustes de las propiedades son el tipo de metal, que sean carburos, nitruros o carbonitruros, como est\u00e9n acomodas las capas, el n\u00famero de ellas, que sean ordenadas o soluciones solidas donde se pueda controlar la proporci\u00f3n de los metales y cu\u00e1les son los grupos funcionales que est\u00e1n unidos a las superficies exteriores, as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n la ausencia de grupos funcionales. Varios MXenes han sido sintetizados experimentalmente y sus propiedades debidamente caracterizadas, muchos m\u00e1s han sido estudiados te\u00f3ricamente y sus propiedades predichas. Algunas propiedades predichas ya han sido confirmadas experimentalmente, pero a\u00fan queda mucho trabajo por hacer. Los buenos resultados de las predicciones te\u00f3ricas hacen que los estudios computacionales exhaustivos sean la gu\u00eda para decidir sobre a cu\u00e1les compuestos se deba dirigir la investigaci\u00f3n experimental. Debido a sus propiedades estos compuestos tienen muchas aplicaciones.\u00a0<\/span><\/h6>\n<h6><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Como resultado del trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n la Dra. Moreno tiene 59 art\u00edculos publicados en revistas de alto impacto internacional, 12 en revistas nacionales, 3 publicaciones en extenso, y 1 en\u00a0 revista de difusi\u00f3n electr\u00f3nica. Por sus trabajos publicados ha recibido alrededor de 1000 citas. La calidad de sus trabajos le han valido para recibir la distinci\u00f3n de tener\u00a0 trabajos como portada en las revistas: Physica Status Solidi (b)&#8221; Vol. 238-1, 127(2003) y Applied Surface Science, 326 (2015) 7-11. Ha participado en congresos nacionales e internacionales. En el aspecto de formaci\u00f3n de recursos humanos, ha dirigido tesis de licenciatura, de maestr\u00eda y de doctorado. Ha sido responsable de proyectos DGAPA-UNAM. Como parte de la superaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica ha realizado estancias sab\u00e1ticas, en San Diego State University y en la Universidad de Barcelona. Dentro de las actividades institucionales, la Dra. Moreno Armenta particip\u00f3 en Comit\u00e9 Organizador del \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">XIV y XV Simposio en Ciencias de Materiales del CNyN-UNAM<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d 2009 y 2010 y fue responsable del \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taller de Nanociencias y Nanotecnolog\u00eda para Principiantes<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d celebrado en el CNyN en febrero 2009 y 2010. Recibi\u00f3 el Reconocimiento Sor Juana In\u00e9s de la Cruz en el 2010. Tambi\u00e9n, fue Jefe del Departamento de Nanoestructuras en el periodo de marzo del 2018 a febrero del 2021.
